OUR MISSION

Our mission is to (Add to the Kingdom of God one “SOUL” at a time). Jesus Christ told His disciples to go and teaching all nations to observe all things He commanded. (Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.)

OUR PASTOR

Pastor District Elder Alfred PonderPastor District Elder Alfred Ponder
Elder Ponder started his journey with God in 1987 at the Bethel Temple Church in Columbus, Ohio under the leadership of Bishop Dane Clark. In the summer of 1990 he accepted his call to the ministry.

In June of 1998 God sent Elder Ponder to Lakeland Fl., as the Assistant Pastor to Bishop Keith Stephenson at Emmanuel Temple Church. In 2002 God sent Elder Ponder to server under Bishop A. J. Williams, Pastor of Hilltop Citadel Christian Center.

He is a Graduate of St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville Florida where he received his Bachelor of Theology Degree and also taught while he was studying for his degree. After getting sick in Florida in 2006, Elder Ponder returned to Columbus, Ohio in August of 2007. There he returned to Bethel Temple Church of Christ working with Bishop again. Not wanting to sit and do nothing, he began to pray and ask God what he wanted him to do. “Teach my people” is what God was speaking to him. God not only gave Elder Ponder the vision, He also gave him the blueprint on how to get it up and running.

After a Tuesday night Bible Study Elder Ponder talked to Pastor Clark and was told that they had purchased the building next door for ministry. Elder Ponder told him about the vision God had shown him and that was the birthing of the Kingdom Empowerment Institute. The school began in February of 2010 until December of 2013 when the school was brought to an end. For three years Elder Ponder taught classes such as The Life of Paul, New Testament, The Life of Jesus and many more.

In September of 2015 while looking for a home church, God was leading him to start a ministry. On November 8, 2016 Kingdom Building Ministry held their very first service at the Whitehall Library. In September the door was opened for KBMC to move to a new building through Brother Marlan Gary, the owner of the Chapel of Peace. On October 16, 2016 we moved to 5456 E. Livingston Ave. Thank God for his obedience, burden for souls and teaching the Word of God.

October 29th, 2016 Elder Ponder started a youth Bible class that meets on the first and third Saturday of each month. These classes are for children ranging from ages 5 thru 17, where they learn the Word of God and open discussions about problems at school, home and in the streets. These classes are held in the Whitehall Library located at 4445 East Broad Street from 11:30 am until 2 pm.

Elder Ponders vision of starting the Kingdom Empowerment Institute is not very far away. When God opens the door for this opportunity Elder Ponder will be willing and ready to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit to get the job done. So keep checking our calendar to see when this happens so you can be a part of this move of God.
